ESA - My Partner is about to start work

Hi all,
After about a year of not being in work and 4 months of Claiming ESA, my partner has managed to get back on her feet and get a new job which starts Today! I'm super proud of her!
My partner will be working part time hours and will be paid monthly. For this month we are relying on ESA to help pay bills as she wont be paid until the 28th, but because she is working i am worried we are cheating the system.
Can ESA support my parter until she is paid, or because she is now back at work, does she loose out this month?
I have tried calling this morning but had to hang up to go to work.
Thanks,
Richard

How many hours are you working a week? More than 24?
If you are then I am presuming that your partner is on contribution based ESA?
You need to notify the DWP of her start date of work. The ESA will stop from that date but since it is paid two weeks in arrears then you should get two weeks more.
There is no help for people going back to work when on contribution based ESA only for those on income based ESA as it is assumed that they either have savings making them ineligible for income based or have a partner who is working and can support them.
If the circumstances are different please say.0 -
Hi thanks for your reply. Today she has started on 25hrs a week. She will be paid not until the end of the month.
She is still on her original ESA when she didnt have a job.
Thanks,
