It can happen at the start of the tax year or when your renewal is issued. If concerned then call them.
  • Thank you I've just got off the phone to them & it because I've told them about my change in employment so the extra payment is for that

Yes that does happen almost every time a change has been updated. I would have said but you never mentioned updating them.
  • The same has happened to me today but I haven't updated them? Not sure why they've done that

Me too randomly also. Usually get a payment each Friday, random payment received today.

I'm guessing they've updated their estimates based on information from my p60 and it's triggered an extra payment, that'll be my guess anyway as P60 came recently.

Well, I've just checked and I too have had another almost full payment from tax credits.I received one last Friday as expected and another today. That doesn't make sense??

Mine was more than my usual payment.

It'll be because they've processed your P60 from last year and it'll be different to the year before (or whatever they estimated when they estimated it at the end of March).

You should still get your regular payment on Friday, it may be for a different amount though

Hmmm, not sure I trust them enough, to actually spend the money, useful as it would be. They may want it back!! :rotfl:

I wouldn't worry about it, they'll just reduce your payments by a few quid a week as a result of the extra payment. No idea why they do it, but they always do it this way.
