in Credit cards
Had some fraud on one of my cards yesterday. Bank called me and wanted to run through security questions first, since that could have been part of the fraud (I said "you want to check who I am but how do I know who you are! ) they said call them back.
So, turned over the card to get the number, why the %#}%^ do they print that number exactly where the reversed impression of card number is and in font an ant would have trouble seeing?
I needed reading glasses and a magnify glass to work out what the number was and even then it took a couple of goes.
Grrrrrr

Maybe Google would would have an answer to save you this terrible ordeal.0

Well, I'd have gone into my online account and looked there for the absolute answer. But for those with even average eyes these numbers are printed in exactly the wrong place.
And yes I'm well aware this is a first world problem0 -

Old age.....
I'd say its the opposite perhaps, since my close up eyesite is very good.
FWIW this is a Barclays branded card. Another Barclays card i have, bank debit card, has the numbers printed larger and to the side where they are easily readable.
Its just very poor design on this card (FWIW a Hilton Honors card)0 -
Did it have a 0845 number too, money grabbers! Always use www.saynoto0870.COM for a cheaper alternative even Freephone!
Ask to be transferred, if need be!0 -

Almost all have complied. Those who were previously using an 0845 number have, in the vast majority of cases, simply swapped to the matching 0345 number.
There are a large number of places where the old numbers are still being promoted. Always check the official website of the organisation you are calling for their current contact details.
Ignore all numbers found on old paperwork or on third-party websites.0 -
Always use my strong reading glasses plus magnifying lenses
to read the contact numbers on the back.
It is old age and too many years looking at computer screens0 -
I agree with AnotherJoe. I've also seen contact numbers made illegible by the embossed numbers.
I keep all the lost/stolen contact numbers in a file on Google Drive, synced to my phone.0 -
Probably easier to memorise the number than to rant about it.0

Never mind not being able to read the number, you should be wary about calling them back...
