British Gas Homecare Powerflush

WATCH OUT!

I HAD BG come out and they powerflushed my boiler... made zero difference and now I can't even shower as the water makes my skin itchy and if any of it gets in my mouth its makes my tongue swell up! the missus is pregnant too and we're meant to be doing a home water birth! BG have totally screwed my boiler, that at least gave me something usable, now I can't even use it safely! and its older than 10 years so they wont replace it!

sad times... rant over :(

Powerflushing is the process by which the CENTRAL HEATING system of a house is flushed clean of rust, sludge and any other debris that may have accumulated.
A high flow/low pressure pumping unit is attached to the heating system circulation pump and a series of strong cleansing chemicals are flushed through the entire system

this is in no way connected to your hot water (or cold water) supply, it is for cleaning out the central heating

He flushed the heat exchanger on the hot water side, and connected it to the end of my shower hose and pumped it. Yes powerflushing is commonly used to flush central heating systems, but it was very much used on my hot water supply!

he pumped it in your shower head , where did it come out of?

(powerflush additive is pumped AROUND the system ,)

OP , what do you do when there has been a break in your water supply and it comes back on cloudy or dirty , you run the &*ody thing till it clears!

if you are adamant that there are chemicals in your cold water , or water that is heated then run the thing on a med setting till it clears

but if there have been chemicals added , to the shower setup , it was more than a powerflush

Its been like this for week now, so its had plenty of chance to be washed through. the odour it gives off is the same odour that was coming out of the machine he was using when he was flushing it.

He attached the pump into the pipe that the hot outlet from the boiler connects to, and the other end went straight onto the shower hose. He said he was trying to clear the grime from the pipe work.

Before that he had the pump connected to the boiler, through the cold water inlet then out the hot water outlet.
