Apr-16 £2,425.66 220L difference from March £163.91
Total difference since Jan £221.51
Details around my monthly gross pay and deductions
Pre Tax Monthly Pay
Gross Notional Salary £3916.67
Car Allowance £375.00
Pre Tax Deductions
Flexible Benefits - Critical Illness -£1.68
Flexible Benefits - Dental -£9.31
Flex Car Flex -£471.69
Pension -£37.21
Flex - Dining Card -£5.00
PAYE Tax -£899.46

Any help would be great as I hate seeing my salary go down

Tax is looked at on a tax year basis, not a calendar year. The tax year runs 6th April to 5th April.
So to know if your tax was correct, you want to look at your total taxable pay for the year and the tax already paid.
Your taxable pay will be made up on salary, car allowance, car benefit, possibly fuel benefit (if company pays for any private fuel), plus any other taxable benefits.
You'll get a P60 to confirm your pay and a P11d for the benefits.
As for the change in tax codes, HMRC should have sent you a coding notice to explain.0 -
Thanks.
I didn't get any notice from HMRC. My car allowance and car payment only started in Jan. I think I'll give the Tax office a call in the morning, usually they just confuse me with tax talk and I just give up and accept it0 -
there should have been a coding notice sent when your code changed. Do HMRC have the correct address for you?0
