Help with returning to work

Hope someone can help. My husband has been out of work for 3 months. He has been offered a job however I have a query regarding housing & council tax benefits. We currently receive both of these benefits however when he starts work he will have to work a month in hand so therefore he wouldn't actually receive any money for 2 months. Are we still able to claim for housing & council tax benefit? I work part time but don't earn enough to cover all our bills.

I think you need to talk to your council about this.
In general, the HB / CTs will stop when the JSa claim stops.
There is such a thing as Extended Payments when starting work, check with your council if this could apply to you.
If HB does stop, could you agree a revised payment schedule with your landlord?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
You could get a 4 week run on, but you need to call your council - it is completely circumstantial and in no way guaranteed for anyone.0
