in Credit cards
Hi,
Just wondering what the best way to spend is?? This is with regards to which bank account to get, followed by which creditcard. Once you have these how do you spend? and which cards?
Have bank Santander 123 back account....
Amex Plat card with 5%/1.25% cashback...
What is the best way to maximise profits (as such)??
Pay using Amex then repay in full via Santander?
or
Get rid of Amex and only use Santander 123 to pay for everything ??
Help!!! I'm lost

Lost with what?
S123 pays cashback on some DDs only. What's the point in using the debit card for spending in the places where Amex is accepted?
For S123 do you maths as it costs £5 p.m. It makes sense to have it only if the cashback is noticeably bigger than £5 and the balance is big. If it is small there are other banks paying 4%-5% on smaller balances and regular savings accounts.
Also, as Amex acceptance is patchy, it's worth having Visa/Mastercard backup CC paying 0.5% cashback.
