Is this a good price regarding the roof?

Options
Hello,

I am based in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.

Had a quote from a local, reputable roofing company for the following work:

[*]To remove all of the existing roofing felt, back to the timber boarding from the front garage flat roof.
[*]To grind out a chase around the entire perimeter of the flat roof adjoining the main building, ready for the felt upstands.
[*]To fit 2x1 treated battens above the guttering, ready for the drip trays.
[*]To torch on a 2mm perforated breathable felt onto the entire roof.
[*]To torch on a 4mm SBS high performance underlay onto the entire roof, including all upstands adjoining the main building and around the perimeter of the vent pipe.
[*]To make and torch on 3 inch drip trays leading into the guttering.
[*]To torch on a 5mm SBS high performance charcoal grey top mineral felt onto the entire roof.
[*]To make and torch on felt upstands around the entire perimeter of the roof adjoining the main building leading into the chase, cement and point up into the correct places.
[*]To make and torch on felt detail work around the entire perimeter of the vent pipe.
[*]To make and torch on 3 inch drip edges around the entire perimeter of the roof where it is not joining a building.
[*]To remove the verge tiles and cement from the left hand verge above the front door, clean tiles and put to one side to be re-fitted.
[*]To fit undercloak up the left hand side of the verge.
[*]To cement and point up all verge tiles back into the correct places.
[*]To remove all of the uneven and wrongly spaced tiles from around the Velux on the upper left hand side of the property. Put tiles to one side to be re-fitted once complete.
[*]Address the issue with the battening around the perimeter of the Velux window & make good of what needs to be done to ensure the tiles fit back flush and correctly.
[*]To fit all of the existing tiles back around the perimeter of the Velux window.
[*]To dispose of all rubbish and debris, leaving the site in a clean and tidy workman like manner at all times.

15 year guarantee (Labour & Materials)

Is the quoted price of £2,400 (inc VAT) reasonable?

    Thanks!

They seem to have gone into considerable detail with the quote. If they are local and reputable as you suggest then it would seem ok. Have you had any other quotes for comparison? If not, then you should.

This is the thing - I have no measurements of the size of the flat garage roof or the roof where they will remove the tiles from the Velux window.

I can only hazard a guess at 2.5m-3m X 5m for the flat roof.
