Halifax switch direct debits

Hi
I already had an old account with Halifax doing nothing so I have just upgraded it to a Reward Account.
To get the £100 switching bonus do I need to transfer any direct debits with the account I intend to switch into it? This account doesn't currently have any DD's set up on it so do I need to set a couple up before switching?
I can't see anything in the switching T&C's that state I have to switch any DD's into the account and reading the Best Bank Accounts article on this site it doesn't say any DD's are necessary for a Halifax switch.
Thanks

I can conclude that I just love a sarky troll.
Nothing wrong with double checking before you do something is there? You see so many posts saying "I didn't see that in the small print", or "I didn't read all of the terms and conditions"....
Better to get confirmation from someone whose actually switched without DD's and can confirm.0 -

I wasn't being a troll, you have obviously read the T&C's just wondered what your conclusions were. You read these twice , once in order to see what they say and once in order to determine what they don't say.
p.s I have switched to Halifax without DD's but that was before they change criteria to needing. Has since been changed again to not mentioned .0 -
No DD are needed just that you switch into your reward account another account elsewhere and close it down via the switching process, which is done by Halifax.
You wont qualify if you have had an incentive since January 2012 though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Hi, I just started the switching process to get the £100 bonus but using a 'sacrificial' current account with no active direct debits. There was no mention of the number of direct debits you have to transfer, only thatUse the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ to transfer all the active credits and debits from the bank account that you hold with another bank and close this account
I hope I interpreted it correctly and will get the bonus! How did it go OP?0
