Cheap Car Hire on Holiday

I am looking for car hire when I go to Majorca in October. Cheapest car hires so far I have found is on http://thomson.co.uk/car-hire/car-hire.html - this seems to be comparing all the brokers and big car hire companies out there (works out to be around £10 per day). Are there any other cheaper car hire comparison sites (reputable) out there?

I usually just type in car hire and your destination to google and see what pops up.
We got a great deal in Hungary from a local hire car firm with a box at the airport from doing that.

Have a look on Travelsupermarket where they compare over 25 car hire companies.0

There is multitude of brokers out there all dealing the same car rental companies. You should have a look at the terms especially their cancellation policy.0

Used them recently on a holiday to Malta. Car was collected and month later on my credit card bill I saw they charged me £80 extra. When I complained their partner said I scratched the petrol cap and left a small dent in the running board. I disputed this but felt okay as EconomyCarRental.com refund any excess.
Well they didn't because you need to contact the Police and file a Police report, yes for a dent and a scratch!!! Problem was first I heard of this damage was a month later, so too late for me to do anything.
Likelihood is you won't have time to contact the Police while you're on holiday, and I am sure they have better things to do, so the offer of refunding excess is an an empty one.
Use someone else if I were you, the car had paint coming off it and more scratches and dents than I've ever seen before. Probably better to pay more and use the companies that don't have local partners.0 -
I also used EconomyCarRentals in Malta on July and I took a car from Dollar Thrifty. Unfortunately I made a minor scratch on the car and I immediately called them. They told me that I had to call the police in order to get a police report because their insurance company needs this document. I did call the police and I also called Dollar Thrifty and they helped me. I sent by post all the documents that they asked for and they refunded me 70 euro.
You should have called them too.0
