premier + over 16s

Is there any way around getting 2 rooms when your child turns 16 at Premier Inn? Our DS has just turned 16, and he really is not "mature" enough to have his own room. Would we have to book adouble and asingle and leave one room empty?

    One solution:

book a twin and a single
your child sleeps in same room as father
    mother sleeps in single room
  • Ive never had them querry ages so i would still book him as if he was 15.

I use PI frequently and always book a family room even though there is only 2 of us as it's larger. They have never asked where the third person is. In the same way they won't care how old your son is and won't ask.

If still in doubt leave your son in the car when you sign in and then get him to join you when you have access to your room. The receptionist will be too busy to notice who is going to what room.

PI are much more relaxed about this sort of thing compared to traditional hotels.

I don't think you will have any issues with PI in a family room as have stayed there a couple of times this year as a family of 4, three over 18s and a 13 year old. We just don't get the free breakfast for the 18 year old. In the case of a fire the headcount would be the same so it would be ok for fire regualtions.

Thanks for the post - which wasn't as stupid a questionas some have implied, which was really asking about booking 3 ads in a family room
I think you may have answered my question - do you book the family room as 3 adults - and they are ok with that?

Premier Inn online only lets you book a maximum of 2 adults (plus 2 children under 16) in a single room.

Travelodge allows you to have up to 3 adults in their family rooms

You book 2 adults and 1 child on the PI site. I book 2 adults and 2 children for myself, hubby, 18 year old daughter and 13 year old. Unlike other hotels it does not ask you to specify the ages of the children, just the number.
