What it the impact of late payment on credit score?

Options
Hi

Just had a look at my credit score and was shocked to see that it had dropped, especially as I had done nothing to impact it.

Had a look and discovered 2 late payments registered by Vodafone. This was actually a rolling 30 day account which was for an alarm system at a property we were working at. The sim itself was a temporary one one initially which I had for family coming to stay in uk, so bill in my name. However, when they left, the company I work for took over the DD as the alarm sim needed replacing.

I was never told originally that I needed to give 30 days notice of cancellation, company cancelled dd without the notice, but will suffer the cost of that. Company has cleared balance.

Spoke to Vodafone & they said they tried to call, but couldn't answer why they didn't write to me when they didn't get a response to call or text:mad:

Does a late payment have that much of an adverse impact on credit score?
A smile costs little but creates much :)

It depends on what random number the credit score generator is giving you that day. It's not important, either way.

However, it will be recorded on your credit file, and lenders will factor that in when making decisions about your credit. The impact of that will depend on their lending criteria and the rest of your file.
