What is the max temp available on a 27" immersion thermostat?.
The one i have only goes up to 70 degrees and i would like it a bit hotter as i have solar pv and a diverter and would like to maximise the benefit.
Anyone know of one that goes higher?.

I was once told that increasing the water temperature in a hot water tank to above 65c greatly increases the amount of limescale build up on the heating elements so it would be worth confirming this first.
Another thing to consider is safety, especially if you have young children. Water at 60 or 65c will give a very nasty scald but at 80c it will be considerably worse.
The last thing that you want is for the water to boil as this can cause it to vent out of the hot water tank and into the header tank.0 -
So you have solar pv & want to heat your water to way above where it will cause you or anyone serious damageI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Where are you placing the 27" immersion? To get the most benefit of your pv, it would be best to place it low down in your hot water cylinder so you heat up a full tank of water rather than, say for example it is towards the top of the cylinder and you try to heat a smaller amount of water to a higher temperature.0
