Stripping paint

Hello
I need to strip some paint & varnish. I am sure I read in one of the Sunday supplements a while ago about a new paint stripping tape (not masking tape) that you just applied to the surface left a few hours then peeled it off taking the paint with it. Does anybody know if this product is available & what it’s called?
Thanks

Don't know of a paint stripping tape but perhaps it was peelaway? you apply a coating of it and cover it up with a type of blanket, paint then comes away when you remove the blanket.
Various retailers for it if you google it.0 -
I've not heard about tape that can act as a paint remover, but there is a product called "biostrip" which is a very good, easy to use and safe paint stripper.
You paint it on, leave it for an hour then scrape it off (apparently if you cover it with cling you can leave it over night and it works even better).0 -
If it's gloss/varnish this will not work, but if it's layers of water-based paints, apparently cheap porridge oats boiled in a little water work well - paste it on a half-inch thick, cover with cling-film to keep it wet, leave for 24-96hrs, and some say as good as some commercial products!0
