Shame it's so unreliable in my area. Every two weeks the services went downChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

I did have Virgin Media Superfast Broadband for over 10 years, not any more. SKY old copper cable 9.6 Mbps Download Speed, 0.8 Mbps Upload Speed and it works as smooth as silk throughout my house, never get any buffering on NOW TV or any websites. I got the MSE SKY free trial deal last July, not paid a penny yet and free Landline Package too - just goes to show, do we all need Superfast Fibre Optic - I don't need Superfast Broadband Lesson Learnt.
Don't take may word for it - make the change to Copper Cable :eek:0 -

I was on VM and my son got it too because he was jealous of the speed. He just got his 200Mbps upgrade too.
I binned them because my area became badly congested and it took months to fix. Then it started happening again just as they started playing silly devils with small price upgrades just months after we'd agreed a new deal so I took the opportunity to leave penalty free. There is a long story of their incompetence to go with that too but I'll leave that out. On Plusnet FTTC now which runs well at all times and not just when the local torrent freak gets wrist cramps.0 -

Thanks for mentioning Plusnet. Am moving home soon and there's no Virgin Media services where we're going; they are my first choice and it's good to know it runs well at all times. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

Except that in my bit of London, we're a long way from a very busy exchange... on a good day, you'd get 1Mbps over the copper cable - I jumped on FTTC as soon as it came available several years back. It's 'only' 38Mbps but that's enough for meNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
I keep complaining to Virgin Media that I don't need faster & faster broadband, 'free' speed upgrades and that I prefer cheaper price, after the massive price increases over last few years.0

You've probably got my speed added to yours:
We know of 1 issue in your area
You might find that you do not have any Virgin Broadband, Virgin TV, TiVo® or Virgin Phone service at the moment.
Our engineer is working to fix the problem.
And they're not wrong, luckily tethering seems to be working pretty well today.0 -

I do feel for people who have problems though, I have a theory that it depends who laid the original cable network.
They are beginning to lay fibre to the door across the whole network which will give huge speed boosts and more reliability, apparently. It will take a couple of years and I'm not too sure what I'd use the extra speed for. Something will come along that needs it though I'm certain...;)
That's on a Wireless connection....Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
