Share certificate worth £300 how do i sell easily.

I have a paper share certificate for a uk stock, its only worth about £300 but i am having trouble finding a way to sell.

I tried stocktrade they don't do it no more
Alliance trust say i need to open an account and provide all the id etc b4 i can do anything.

I just want to do a 1 off sale, not open an account or anything, anyone know of a company that does this.

£300 less charges isnt going to amount to much anyway.

The cheapest way is to open an account with someone as you might be able to get away with just one trading fee of around a tenner. However, I can understand your reticence.

You could use someone like X-O.co.uk share dealing services (£5.95 per trade) for a cheap method of selling the shares.

Open a Share Dealing account with X-O.co.uk (part of Jarvis Investment Management Ltd) - free to open and no annual account charges - then transfer your share certificates in to your account (to be safe send the shares in by registered post) and sell them for £5.95 per share holding.
