Hi everyone
My partner and I finally have a date for moving in which is a week tomorrow! Just have some final questions if anyone could help me out...
When do the solicitors get the money from the bank?
When do we get insurance? We have just paid the deposit today to the solicitors
What else could go wrong?
Estate agents close at 5... What time are we likely to get the keys?

Sometimes the day before completion. My solicitor plans to do this. It means more time to sort things out if there is a last-second mortgage problem, but you pay an extra day's interest.

What type of property are you buying?
If it's a leasehold flat, the freeholder is usually responsible for buildings insurance. You might want contents insurance once you've moved your furniture and belongings in.
If it's a house, you would get buildings insurance at exchange. (If this is the case, your solicitor should have told you.)0 -

Your solicitors might ask the bank to transfer the money the day before completion, so that they can transfer to the other side first thing on the day.0
