But what do I need to do in terms of my defence for court? Surely the status of the PCN issuer's business won't affect the outcome of my claim will it?0

MothballsWallet wrote: »randy101, usually that's correct - but on this board the regulars advise keeping to the thread you started as it keeps everything in one place for both yourself and us.
Don't panic - perhaps Crabman (the board guide) can merge the 2 threads together?
Okay, the original threads can be deleted, just not sure how to do that yet! Apologies again though. I am still stuck on what to do in terms of my defence etc for in court?0 -
The company appear to be heading for oblivion. Ask gladstones a lot of questions, keep the ball in the air, cost them money.

The court papers have already been issued to me though, what will contacting Gladstones any further achieve. Do i not just need to focus on sorting my defence now?0 -
have a look through the forum / search for previous court defense threads .........
do not use any threads more that a year old ....
and have a look at and consider the Parking Pranksters guide

good luck

I have exactly the same situation - 99p Store, closed at night - Weatherspoon's pub, tiny contradictory signs, EPS charge notice issued, court papers from Gladstones!0

So please read the sticky thread 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' and in particular the section about 'Small Claim?'
Then search the forum for keywords like (I would suggest): 'defence Gladstones' to find other very relevant, RECENT 2016 threads (DO NOT randomly search for anything at all about the parking firm, nor Google and read anything older than 2016).
There are dozens of defences discussed on this forum, a few every week, so do a useful forum search to learn the sort of thing to be aware of and read the links under 'Small Claim' in the NEWBIES thread to learn what to do when (bargepole's summary of the court procedure and paperwork).
You both need to acknowledge the claim but if you ask us something like 'do I contest jursdiction?' we will send you back to read bargepole's post linked in the NEWBIES thread!! Such things ARE covered already. ZeElk you need to post on your own thread or start one if you haven't already, showing us on YOUR thread, your proposed defence draft once you have acknowledged the claim (leaving the defence box COMPLETELY BLANK for now).PRIVATE 'PCN'? Okay so update guys, I submitted a defence as suggested and using guidance from this site via the Money Claim Online website. I noted the lack of clear signage, lighting, evidence, and also the state of affairs of the car parking company in question as well as it's Director. I have received an e-mail yesterday from Gladstones who are acting on behalf of Euro Car Parking Services saying that the client wishes to proceed with the claim but has requested it all be done via papers and evidence rather than an oral hearing! So what do I do next?0

refuse and go for an oral hearing , in person
use the forum search using similar words and read what happened with those
those lazy ****s dont want to travel , lol

You re-read bargepole's advice in his post that I linked under 'Small Claim?' in the NEWBIES thread.
He tells you 'what happens when' and you will see that you will get a form N180 Directions Questionnaire.
Bargepole tells you how to complete that, in the post I linked for people to read. You need to add comments on it to state that you DO NOT ACCEPT the case being 'heard on the papers' and you require a hearing at your local court as you are an unrepresented consumer who wishes to state your defence in person. Gladstones do this a lot, we tell people ALWAYS to refuse, in the DQ N180 form, which you then send to the court AND a copy to the claimant's solicitor.
You need to extend your reading, you could have found this discussed just by Googling 'Gladstones case paper based hearing'.
TRY THAT NOW. LEARN FROM WHAT PEOPLE HAVE DONE BEFORE AND WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN BLOGGED ABOUT THIS.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What did you do about it then?
So my best bet is to refuse the oral hearing and go to court? What do I do in court? What is the procedure when I go to court then?!0
