Banks that offer 'Savings Jars'?

Options
Hi

Just wondering if you might have any recommendations for a new bank account?

I have a couple of accounts which always stay in credit (for specific reasons that won't change) and a couple which run an overdraft.

Years ago, I know Intelligent Finance offered accounts which allowed you to offset against each other so interest is reduced. e.g. Account 1 has -£500 balance but because Account 2 has +£500 balance, the total interest charged is zero.

However, I see Intelligent Finance is defunct... so am wondering if there are alternatives?

cheers!

  • Hi
not answering your Q direct but:-

I have one account that serves same purposes as you describe but have an Excel doc behind it keeping a track of money going in , allocation of these monies to different pots and debits against each of these pots.

Money going in has been calculated annually to pay all the demands on all the pots and an accrual gets DD monthly. The Excel then subs]divides this one input into the necessary pots.

Relatively easy to design and use monthly

The bank account is one of the high interest bearing accounts and the initial cash flow projection ensure the account never theoretically should go into the red!
Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.
