Wednesday 27th April - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning all :hello:
I feel as though I might have been run over during the night.... _pale_ Everything hurts - even my muscles ache when I breathe. Moan whinge. It's only a cold, but I seriously had to think about whether I could face work when I got up and saw snow outside. But I'm already on attendance tracking after my 8 days off with stress, so I should make the effort. Besides which, I finally finished marking these tests so they have to go back.
Hope everyone is doing ok. Hugs to those that need, and thinking of the people we haven't heard from in a few days...
Plans for today.
 Check banking and PAD (thank God it's payday Friday)
 Full day of teaching
 nsd
 read Martin's email
 no extra marking today
 stay drugged up on paracetamol and drinking lots of water
 Early night
 Hoover through (it's disgusting here)
That will do. I'm all emotional because I'm ill and this Hillsborough thing makes me feel very sad. Have a good day all. :beer:Not giving up

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us off cat yesterday was loooong, didn't get back until nearly midnight. Off back today. Will finish at normal time today though. Was very picturesque where we were so the snow made it even more beautiful. Luckily it didn't stick around as it would have made travel interesting!
My list today:
Check BT has gone through on both sides
Check banking, surveys and FPL
Meals from stores
Ditch shoes I wore yesterday as realised they had a big hole in the sole when I walked in the rain
will put in recycling
Early night as its going to be a long time until Friday
Stewed fruit for breakfast
Meal plan for next week and see what's the minimum we need to buy. We have really reduced our food spend this month, it's still higher than some but it makes a massive difference to our budget
Read martins e mail
Hot drink in car for long (but beautiful) commute today
Think that's all for now, check back tonight.0 -

Morning guys  thanks for starting the thread cat and I hope you feel better soon. Well done on representing yourself at work today!
So today dgd & I are going to the local wildlife park making use of our membership
will take drinks and snacks with us. oh took the car seat! So we walked to the park instead
Also plan to do some stuff in the garden - finish off digging over the veg patch & dig in compost/fertiliser and sow some seeds :j yay finished digging it over and dug in home made compost :T now to start a new batch (we have a tumbler)
dinner will be lo chicken - possibly a curry if I have the ingredients. I did have so I did
Have got stuff to make rice crispy cakes with dgd this afternoon done
Nip to the local library and get dgd some new books. Will pick up milk at coop while I'm in the village. walked to the library but it was closed, stopped and got milk
Post something for work done
Put up dgd's book shelves - got the idea off of pinterest. Book shelves made out of white guttering, placed low so dgd can get them
- and put up some hooks. Have been doing a few small alterations to her room without spending a fortune! Yesterday we put up 2 shelves along one small wall, both are low but one is at a level that she can play toys on. Am going to make baskets using newspaper and painting for various sets of toys to go in. Planning to use a tin of silver spray paint got for another craft project and then paint a red heart on it :T
Aw seems like a lovely day planned! Have a good day everyone xDF as at 30/12/16

Good Morning,
Still feeling rough here and had DS2 up every two hours taking little bits of milk and then going back to sleep. I am one very tired mummy! Then had a major meltdown with DD because she got no treats at the shop due to her poor behaviour. She is turning into a right little madame!
Contacted BT to make a complaint. Have baby clinic after the afternoon nursery run. Dinner (if I can face it today) will be leftover thai green curry. Apart from that, nothing else.
Hope you are all OK xDMP Started June 20160 -

Hello Frugal Friends,
Just checking in quickly to say thanks for your concerns. No, I haven't been abducted by aliens. I've been trying to spend less time online generally so as to target lots of stuff that needed doing. I'm fine, apart from I've got a cold/throat lergy, but mr f has promised to buy cold capsules & throat sweets on his way home from work to get me through my two meetings tonight.
Just done May's budget. Have been shuffling funds around like mad, but the good news (IF we stick to all our budgets this month & IF we don't have any disasters) is that I have already managed to ear-mark £724 towards that Very Horrible Car Bill we had recently. That means I'm only short by £114. The bill was paid on a CC so as to maximise points for vouchers & because of how the billing dates fell, it doesn't need paying until 27th May. I'm sure I can pull together the rest of the money from June's budget (which will also be done on 27th May) to get this thing paid & out of our hair. If I can do this, it means we'll have paid it in full without dipping into our precious Car Fund or Emergency Fund. I think we can do it.....as long as nothing else goes wrong.
OK, well must finish filing & get some lunch. It's my birthday tomorrow, but I've budgeted some money for a meal out & I think the poor weather forecast may mean we don't go too wild with outings this BH weekend. Visitors on BH Monday, but food, baking, etc, all planned.
OK, must fly. Best Wishes to all of you. Keep your hands on your pence....

Sounds fab foxgloves - £114 is nothing to a budgetting magician like you!

Hi HelleBelle and MTC  MTC - hope you are getting through the day ok - defo try to eat something!!
I've not had a v productive day...
Getting annoyed with the air bnb website for not accepting my id and the advert for the cheap place turned out to be fake/wrong ("my son advertised the wrong price but if you want to pay 4 times what we advertised it at then you can stay here...") grr...
OH got the train this afternoon so I said I'd pick him up later. I need to get lots of work done in between tidying the house before 10pm, which is more difficult than it sounds since I am obsessed with finding holiday accommodation!!
