Filled areas of plaster showing through paint

On this wall we may just get away with it with hanging pictures or something but i've filled in cracks in the living room which are resulting in the same situation which we wont get away with so i'll ask about this now while i can...
Had the wall outside our bathroom re-plastered & unlike other areas i've recently spoken about on here, the lad actually did a good job.
There were just 2 or 3 cracks that formed so i raked out & filled.
I painted the wall ... 1:1 mist coat with Dulux Super Matt.
I had some left over from doing the ceiling so rather than throw it, it was just enough to hit it with another coat.
I then tonight did it with a 70/30 coat.
STILL the areas where i filled show through....

The rest of the wall is perfectly fine. Only the areas that were filled.
For all i know i will put a couple of coats of the top coat on & it'll cover it evenly & i'll forget it ever happened.
BUT it's showing through each coat so far so i can't help thinking the top coat wont be any more special than the current coats & it'll show through that too.
Why is it doing it? The filler said it was paintable. I guess it wasn't lying - it is paintable, it just shows up a different shade to everything surrounding it

What filler did you use?0

Is the paint fully dry? I have found when I have filled and then painted over (100% paint) that the filled bit is often visible slightly (colour variation between the filled, and none filled bits) on the first coat when wet, but slowly fades as it drys. By the time I've done the 2nd coat its vanished completely.
I would get your full 100% paint coat on and take a view at that point.0 -

The paint is dry too yes.
And the filler i used is "Beeline Red Devil Onetime Filler". I didn't choose it randomly - i contacted numerous decorating websites & that was one that got recommended amongst others. It just happens that i selected that one.0 -

I reckon you might be overthinking this.
I have never had a problem with any type of filler (standard b&q etc), any type of paint, with filled and sanded cracks.
Just get the next coat(s) on - there;s no reason why it shouldn't be fine.0 -
As above, a few coats of paint and they will disappear, if not roll a coat of water based undercoat over the area then emulsion over.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I would not worry about it! I recently painted over some hideous wallpaper which had a flower patterns with some quite bright colours. It took 2 coats to get it covered with undiluted paint, and even then it was still bleeding through in places. Another coat would have solved it if I was staying white, but ended up painting with a feature wall colour anyway!0

It's called 'flashing', and it's pretty common. When I'm tarting up a wall, I fill and sand flush, mist the filler, then paint over the filler and immediate area a couple of times; only then do I paint the whole wall as normal.
I've never had any issues that way.0
