JSA Conditions

This might seem a simple question... but what are the basic's regarding signing on to JSA... What I'm trying to find out what are the general conditions...
Ive heard of ppl going to the JC and being told what jobs they are being pushed to apply for etc etc....

Got my HGV licence about eight years ago.. didn't get the chance to use it back then due to numerous reasons... one being the recession... I injured my back which lead me on to ESA but I think I should try and attempt to return to some form of work... Job centre hasn't been much help whilst on ESA... Just wondering if being on JSA be any better....Can I tell them what I am prepared to do,i.e considering my past back issue which may flare up..... after all I don't want to be pushed into something as a stop gap...

Check if you are eligible for JSA in your area.

You may have to claim Universal Credit instead, depending on your personal circumstances - single, partner, children etc.

If your doctor gives you a sick note for your back or any other problems then you could make an ESA claim. Even if they find you fit enough to work it's still 13 weeks or more rest since you aren't working right now.

it sounds like the OP is already on ESA, if this is the case, there is nothing to stop you looking for work and asking the JC to help.
you can also do permitted work whilst continuing to receive ESA

Im on ESA and asked for help. I got to see the careers advisor and disability advisor, all voluntarily as Im in the support group. They were very helpful
