But what happened to your blue brick damp course at ground level? It is not there so where do you stand on rising damp and future spalling?
You might say You have Class A face bricks, or more probably Class B, but I would need convincing because you have capped the wall with the Blues - suggested these are the most robust and suitable brick.0 -
There was never meant to be blues on the bottom. It has red engineering bricks at the bottom, you can see the two courses above pavement level in the photos. Blues at the bottom wouldn't look right to me.0

If you are happy then I too am happy. Widely available red engineerings are the Class B with three holes per brick. If these were used at the base of the wall then so be it. You could have used solid reds, but if so, one would probably have chosen these for the capping to match in. Hence my querey over the wall - just puzzled that is all!0 -
Yes, we have some other brickwork near the drive (a little bin store area) with the same style, blues on top, so thought it would be nice to have it match and I think they look smart. Reds on bottom purely for practical reasons rather than aesthetics so the more they blend the better.0

Apparently (according to a recent paver I asked for a quote from) bricks have increased massively in price, not sure why...0
