Tuesday 26th April - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning all
Well my snotty nose and sore throat woke me up at 6 this morning _pale_ so I thought I might as well get up. I'm fairly determined to get back on the MSE bandwagon today because I've had a wobbly few days for sure. I can tell I've been stressed because my eating habit are rubbish and I'm gaining weight, and spending money I shouldn't be again. Time to nip that in the bud before it gets out of control.
So today I will:
 check banking and PAD
 make a start on the monthly shop online as it's payday on Friday :j
 only spend on milk and a trip to the vet with naughty tortie
 try not to stress
 stay drugged up on paracetamol
 meals from stores
 full day of teaching
 finally finish marking these blimming tests
 eat mindfully instead of eating rubbish because I'm stressed
 make time for exercise
 7000 steps for my Bounts
 attempt to finish crocheting my cuddly sheep.
Sounds like a busy one. Have a good day all :wave:Not giving up

Morning Cat thanks for the start. Hope you have a good day and feel ok.
Legomum my kitchen isn't great either. Had one of those nights where you feel you don't start to chill out till after 9pm and by that time I felt shattered. Hope your son's check up goes ok.
So yesterday saw me making my first round of May payments. Will do more on Friday when OHs money is in.
I also ordered a school leaving hoodie for my son as although I see It as an expensive item (£15) I got the largest size going and he will love it when it turn a up. We also will have a year book, & class photos/individual photos coming up to buy if we want to before end of term. It's hard to walk a line sometimes between saying no to these items because they are 'the last one at infant school' & feeling a bit emotionally manipulated.
Keeping the faith today by
1. OH packed lunch
2. No heating on
3. No tumble drier
4. Checking banking
5. Walking as much as possible
6. Using home made babyfood
7. Putting a charity bag out to the kerb
8. Keeping on top of basic housework
9. DD clothed in all gifted clothing..
10. Design dinner around stores.
Hoping to see Ziggy back on the thread today. We miss you.

Hi guys

OH is out tonight so I’m in on my lonesome and don’t want to spend it sitting on the sofa!
Going to try to get through some laundry and sort the house out so I don’t need to spend all bank holiday weekend sorting it.
Cat – don’t fret about falling off the wagon – draw a line and you’ll be back on track – one day at a time.

Morning all...
Wasn't very DFW yesterday but had a crazy few days at work and I tend to overspend. Having said that it was the first time that this has happened this month whereas before it was happening on a weekly basis:eek:.
Anyway DFW for the day:
-Amazon payment en-route so going to make a payment to CC2 as still paying £20/month interest on it.
-Pack ebay parcel/post today or tmrw
-List 2 more items for ebay ready for thurs listing
-filing statements etc that received; want to keep up this decluttering bug lol and means that have to open up ban statements etc
-food from stores/fridge
-pre-pack lunch for tmrw
Hope everyone has a great day - sun is out today so will hopefully continue..Debt outstanding [STRIKE]£3491.[/STRIKE] £3303

Morning guys  thanks for starting the thread cat :A sorry to hear things are still tough for you but have full confidence you'll sort out your little spending spree! Sometimes something's gotta give so don't worry about this minor blip x
La E good luck with the appraisal - am sure you'll ace it :A
MTC hope things are less stressful for you today x
legomum I gotta ask do you make a date cake every day????!
Bob - totally get the conflict between getting the lo's things and trying not to spend.
re the job - I have found a couple of ft jobs - but really want to continue spending time with dgd. So think I will continue looking for p/t. We've been seeing some attachment issues showing with her the last few months so want to give her as much love, attention and time as I can before she starts school next year.
Ok things for today:
* clean whole house! Need to be super efficient and speedy. Don't want to have to do anything other than keeping things clean the rest of the week when I have dgd. Will use minimal products and reuseable cloths
* all meals from stores - although I do need potatoes...
* walk to the farm shop for said potatoes
* make the banana bread while the oven is on for dinner
* roast chicken for dinner - will strip the carcass to get another meal (it's a titchy bird!)
* wash bedding & put on the line
* do a job search
* finish digging over veg patch, dig in compost/fertiliser, pot on aubergines, sow some basil, squash and lettuce seeds
really happy with what I've plants so far - hope for success! I have 4 tom plants with another 4 seeds planted Sunday, chilli, peppers, aubergines, basil, garlic, onions, 2 cut & come again mixed salad plants, coriander (I never get great results with coriander!), rocket, 5 bags of potatoes & beetroot all germinated and doing well.
I have also sown courgettes (6 seeds 3 varieties - 1 seed germinated so far), dwarf beans, runner beans. Still to sow more lettuce, radishes, spring onions, sprouting broccoli, cauliflower and I want to get some more herb seeds, chard, strawberries, cucumbers and I think I'll be done!
* watching a few bundles on ebay that finish today - dgd grows out of her clothes so quick!
* do some form exercise.
Ok that'll do for now...
Have a great day everyone xDF as at 30/12/16
