Can anyone recommend it? Or vice versa? I like the idea of paying a flat £50 for downloads for the year, but I understand you can only download some things for a short period of time, and then you have to pay for them.

As far as the selection of music goes I've been farily impressed; there aren't many big name artists on there, but I'd be unlikely to be buying those anyway.

Newsgroups and https://www.newzbin.com for £2 every 2-3months.

Some ISP's dont allow Newsgroups, and even worse some ISP's cap the amount you download now so be careful.

Downloading music from newsgroups is not legal. There is also a chance that the file you download from a newsgroup could contain a virus. Be very careful if you decide to do this.

I'm only interested in Wippit as it is apparently the only legal site that allows you to download music without the licence protection.
