Socail Services Capacity Assessment - Apponteeship

If it's deemed that I lack capacity over my finances could that have implications on other capacity matters like me traveling aboard? Would I need a capacity assessment for everything in the future?

Some background.

I haven't been managing my finances properly and approximately in £5000 of debt. Social services learning disability department wants me to have an appointee to look after my money and pay my debts off and they want to do an capacity assessment. If I fail it could that have other implications on things?

Kind regards...
