Problems with prepayment smart meter
I recently had installed a smart prepayment meter. When I top up my credit the payment automatically goes through to my account. However this is not happening. My supplier states it is the shops fault as the Paypoint connection must be faulty. I have tried a different Paypoint with the same result. I am now at a loss what to do.

So are you saying that your gas has run out and your credit isnt being added to your meter? Who is your supplier?
What does your meter look like? Can you check the meter and tell us the make and model?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
I just tried the electric yesterday and the payment failed at the Paypoint terminal. Tried another shop and the same happened there. The card details were entered manually as my card does not swipe. I can pay over the phone but I want to pay with the cash I have and not through my bank account.0

Sounds like its an Ovo/Utilita smart prepayment meter..So far I havent seen any smart prepay meters in my area with BG using the standard Landys and Gyr smart meter. I will be very happy to see them coming in use tho.
If its an Ovo meter (Liberty Secure meters ) you can manually top up but its a very long number which has to be entered not too fast or too slow to succeed. Thats a major flaw in Ovos system when one could have up to a 60 digit number to enter manually.0 -
I believe with utilita (liberty) meters there is also an issue whereby its possible to have credit showing on your in house module but the credit has actually been used on the meter and the meter has shut off. This occurs when the in house display module loses contact with the meter and so doesnt update.
It seems that in this case, customer is crediting at paypoint but there is a metering or communication issue in that the credit isnt reaching the meter.
OP could consult guides as follows;

OP could manually input the top up code into the unit which is shown on the receipt.
