Santander "Gone Away"

So I have been trying to clean up my credit report now all my debts are paid.
I have successfully separated from my ex husband financially and this has been reflected with all CRAs. There is no association now.
So I was surprised to find a "gone away" flag from Santander - this was put on after it was paid.
The address they have used for me is correct and I have been told by Santander that this is correct because it was a joint account.
My ex hasn't updated his address and refuses to do so.
This doesn't feel right to me - is it worth a complaint to Santander?

Yes, worth a go.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
Yes, Santander and the CRAs are peddling lies again. Complain to the ICO as well as to the perpetrators. A so-called 'gone away' marker could have serious consequences.0

Of course one is under no obligation whatsoever to leave a forwarding address to anyone. The Experian GAIN blacklist is ostensibly aimed at people who've gone away owing money with no intention of paying it back.0 -

Not a blacklist. It's a legitimate tracking system.0 -
thanks for all the replies.
My issue is that I no longer have a financial association with this person.
Santander have my present address and they have confirmed that but refused to make the change on my report.
I can't find anything on the ICO guidelines about this.0
