BHS Refund on Credit Card

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a question about refunds for companies in administration.
I ordered an item online from BHS and want to return it. There is a lot in the press about them possibly going into administration today. So if I return today and the refund is processed today would I still get my money back? Or might it get stopped?
I know in the grand scheme of things this is not that important as many people may be loosing their jobs but it is important to me.

Would the refund be processed today? And before the administration.. I doubt it.

How much is the item? S75 protects you if the purchase is over £100. Else the CC might be prepared to issue a chargeback, though there is no direct obligation to do so.

I was thinking of doing that but usually it involves refunding and then putting through a new sale as its on a credit card.

Think I misunderstood - you mean although you bought online, you can return it to a store? Then perhaps you should go ahead as quick as you can and see if they will refund/exchange on the spot. But don't authorise another payment unless they've refunded you...

Are you sure? I've never had do that in a High Street shop - even with online orders. They process the refund, the till has a negative number then they scan your replacement and they'll either cancel out, ask you for more money or give you a partial refund.

Hi All,


I bought some bridesmaid dresses last week online at BHS. I need to send 4 back and initiated the returns online on Wednesday and Saturday (before they went into administration) and have been given returns numbers. However, BHS policy of bridal wear is you can only return via courier which is due to come tomorrow to collect the dresses. I've now seen that they are not accepting returns for anything purchased before 25th April.
I bought these on my credit card - Will I be entitled to claim anything back? (All 4 are under £100 each so i'm unsure that section 75 will apply)

If the individual items are below £100 then as you say section 75 won't apply, but you should be able to use chargeback if the dresses are demonstrably faulty (i.e. as opposed to not liking the colour or whatever).

I thought the purchase had to be over £100, not the individual item? So therefore, as long as they were all purchased in the same transaction, Section 75 would apply?
