Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well.
I thought I would try to get on earlier as its nearly teatime, sometimes, before I get to post.
I slept fairly well last night, except for the darn cat waking me up because he wanted to go out. He is now back in and snoozing while I think about what needs doing today. A lot of my time is spent on youngest son who is at home being educated for the foreseeable future. As previously mentioned, he suffers from extreme anxiety and sleeps badly. He is still asleep at the moment but I will be waking him as soon as I finish this post. It's tempting to leave him but it won't benefit him as he will struggle to sleep again tonight. So today I will be spending some time with him doing maths, English and science.
I also have to do the usual housework. It's overcast here so If any washing is done it will probably get dried in the tumble dryer. No idea what's for dinner but it will be something simple after all the party food last week.
Hugs to those that need one. Glad to see some of you got a bit more sleep @ Hard up Hester. I hope you manage to convey your concerns to your hubby's boss ok. When are you doing it?
dumpling I hope your day improves and your lack of sleep doesn't hinder you too much x
Right off to wake DS. Have a good day/week everyone. Xx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Morning all,
good news about the improvement in your Hubby Candlelight. Have they said what the plan is for long term?
A busy Saturday for me and a very sleepy Sunday. I dunno how i dragged myself out of bed yesterday morning but i think part of the problem was i didnt take my medication till quite late in the afternoon on Saturday and the gap in my thyroxine level wiped me out! Shant do that again in a hurry.
Still, its Monday, the men back at work and i can go at my own pace today.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all ,Monday morning and I have ironing to do. Lovely to see my DGS and family last night and I had a gorgeous dinner of lamb with all the trimmings made by my son-in-law.
Looking a bit cloudy at the moment and rain is forecast.I have a busy week this week catching up on all the things I missed last week because of my holiday.Cold still being a nuisance at the moment, I'll be glad when its gone,I hate feeling under the weather, especially when I have so much to do.I am definitely not a patient patient
DGS Jack did one of his Mocks'last Friday and he quite pleased at how it went, next month is looming for his GCSEs so he is going to be a busy boy. Right time I got a wriggle on.Hope everyone has a good day and great news on the improvement of your OH candlelight
Onwards and upwards chums

Good Morning everyone, wet and chilly here today but that's OK as I've plenty to do indoors. He Who Knows has gone to the Dentist for a pre crown fitting and perhaps a filling (we're not sure) so I'll be making soup for lunch in case he can't chew. I have a lovely summer smelling kitchen at the moment, I've got some of the frozen fruit out of the freezer and am making a berry compote to have with yoghurt for breakfasts and supper tonight will be macaroni with a cheese and tomato sauce on baked in the oven along with some salad so a No Spend Day here. Ironing and housework is up to date and I've fed all the house plants and the herbs outside so not much to do today other than a Cookie walk after lunch. I'm sure I can find enough to do though to NOT be bored!!!
Have yourselves a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Hi everyone,
It's horrible outside today, luckily I don't have to go anywhere because I'm waiting in for a delivery. It's a scanner so that I can put all the photos on the server - I thought we'd agreed on the model we were going to get but DH has ordered the next model because it was only £20 dearer! Does anyone else's DH do this? We'll probably never use the extra features this model has but he always has to have the best new gadget.
We collected DS and fiancee from the airport, they'd had a lovely time staying with friends near Perpignan but unfortunately hadn't seen much sun.
I cooked some beef in the slow cooker yesterday and that will be turned into soup today, with veg and barley. We find that hearty soups are one of the best things to eat on the BSD, very comforting and filling. DH has lost over a stone in 3 weeks and I've lost 12lbs but the main benefit is having a "normal" digestive system for the first time in many years.
I hope all the poorlies are starting to feel better. Congrats to anyone celebrating and have a good day to you all.0 -
Good morning all,
It rained during the night and early morning, but that has cleared now.
Himself wanted to drive into town, so we went to have a look around and managed to get a cancellation appointment for him to have his feet done. He says they feel wonderful now.
Judi his illness can be managed with drugs including diuretics. He must take those every day to stop the build up of fluid, but no operation. I am so proud of him because he accepted that, and we are so grateful for all the help and advice we received at the hospital (University Hospital, Coventry & Warwickshire). Their aim is to maintain as good a quality of life as possible.
Whilst Himself was having his feet done I had a wander around and I found 2 lovely tops in Debenhams, so I decided to treat myself.
A quiet afternoon planned and we are back on the BSD properly again, so a small salad for lunch. As I said the other day it has been a bit difficult when you are eating out,(hospital) but now we are at home we are back on the wagon.
Have a good day all

I hope you find the extra features are useful after all.

It's my responsibility to dish them out, and ensure the meds cupboard is kept stocked.
Hopefully Mr C will stay on top of his fluids now, and you'll both be able to enjoy a decent quality of life for a good long time.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I got up early as builders were due. The downstairs bathroom with the oh so stylish 80's coloured bath and basin has been ripped out. Bathroom is an empty shell and they are removing the wall and floor tiles as I speak. Just glad there is a loo and washbasin upstairs.
Water had to be turned off for a while and I filled some saucepans so I could make tea. Lunch was a tin of soup and I have lo veg and potato to add to a gammon steak for later.
Have spent so much time looking at different bathroom equipment online my head is spinning. Think I have found a suitable shower enclosure but other things are waiting for a supplier to phone.
It started to rain so I had to rush out to rescue the washing.I will hang it on a clothes horse once builders have gone.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Afternoon all,
Had the little baby to stay for the weekend and although we thoroughly enjoy it, I have spent the last couple of hours cleaning. Our Lounge and bedroom are on the first floor and as soon as we open the baby gate on the Lounge he is speed crawling to our bedroom where he stands up, kisses his reflection and wipes his dribble and hands all over the glass sliderobes.
DS2 and his GF are away for the week at her grandparents in Derbyshire so me and DH can have whatever we like for dinner with no restrictions!!
Bit of a wet day here and very chilly, just waiting for the sun to arrive!0 -
Just as well I got up early this morning as a horde of builders arrived at 8.45am, luckily I was dressed. Then I dashed about getting things together, getting the black rubbishy bag and so on. By the time I left the house half an hour later they had my carpet up, the skirting board off, the living room door off and a fair chunk of the dry skin wall off too.
All I saw was a load of wet wood so skedaddled as fast as I could, didn't want to see too much otherwise I'd worry all week. They've promised it'll all be sorted by Friday. Then it'll all need redecoration!
Anyway, I took myself off down the road, stopped off at the bank to deposit my jam jar money (£85.00) and then had a little detour to Inverarary Castle tearoom for breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed my toasted ham and cheese bagel and a wander through the gift shop.
The drive down was fine until the roadworks in Dumbarton. Down to one lane, hundreds of yards of cones and eventually two men and a machine doing something at a very small part of the road.
Before going to Mum's I drove out to where I have to be tomorrow, it's a place I haven't been to before so wanted to make sure I knew where it was beforehand. I'd hate to be late or lost (or both) tomorrow morning.
And that's my day. Once again, time for tea.0
