This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all
I was up showered and dressed by 5:30, hubby has a cuppa, he's on a later shift today. Once I've had breakfast I'll go to DD to help with the school run and then on to work. I've made a list of what I need to speak to hubby's boss about.
I mowed the grass yesterday, I remembered I'm dog sitting a very small Yorkshire terrier soon and I don't want to lose it in the undergrowth.
I have nearly finished DGD5's blanket, I'm on the last ball of coloured yarn then just the white border to do.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning everyone. Thanks for the thread HH.
Yesterday I spent most of the time in the garden again, tidying up and so on. This is the first spring I've been able to actually get stuck in and am enjoying it.
I went into the village again to collect a order from T*sco Direct but it still hasn't arrived. I ordered it last Monday, delivery to the petrol station by Friday and yet not there on Friday or yesterday. I'm really annoyed by the shoddy service.
Today I have to get ready for my time in Larbert and Glasgow. I also want to clear the living room ready for the builders coming in whilst I'm away. The boss called in last night to double check things.
The sky is very bright already though there are pink clouds, hope that doesn't mean rain.
Happy Monday everyone.0 -
Morning everyone
HH - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, but very dull, dreich and dreary, forecast is this for the day with some rain thrown in.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work. DS2 still in his pit will wake him shortly to get ready for school.
Lunch yesterday was bargain pork, roasties, mash, braised red cabbage, carrots, green beans, broc, peas, yorkshires and gravy. Yorkshire's didn't rise as much as normal, I think I may have made them with self raising flour instead of plain, as usual was trying to do too many things at once and stopped to speak to ill person's family on the phone part the way through prepping lunch, but they were edible and not that bad. Only very small amount of LO's, of mash and yorkshires, will need to decide what I'm doing with those. Dinner tonight will be ravoli and tortellini in creamy sauce and tomato sauce with a breaded chicken portion for the menfolk.
We were quite chilled yesterday, just took the day slowly, watched some tv, organised pack ups, work/school uniforms/clothes.
Back to work today for me, will see what the day brings, telephone's were busy on Saturday when I was at work and it was all the same type of enquiries, today could be some of the same.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Bright again, I'm loving getting the washing dried every day. Cut the grass, hoovered all round - including the stairs - cleaned the downstairs bathroom and then had a lazy day. Caught up with a couple of programmes I wanted to watch too.
Meeting friends after work for an early tea, apart from that nothing exciting. Have a good week. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all, very dull and cold here, the forecast is rain on and off.
I shall have some toast in a minute, I don't need to leave for a couple of hours.
Didn't sleep well but can have a little sleep on the train.
Hope everyone has a good day.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all,
Drizzly day here and seems very cold too off to work for me which will hopefully be a bit quieter due to the weather.
DD has a day off today, she has a driving lesson mid day, so she will be home early enough to do dinner.
Had a fairly lazy day yesterday, we watched a bit of the marathon ( which I love) then took the bear out for a nice walk, we than came home and I did an online shop while OH remade the beds, then a lazy evening in front of the tv.
Today will be work, dinner a tidy up a bit of tv then bed, I am just to shattered after work for much else :rotfl:
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone,
Dry and reasonably bright here but bbbrrrr cold, winter coat will go on
Work today but last Monday to work all day as new hours kick in next week :j
Lunch with Mum yesterday was smashing, bless her she knows we are not eating carbs, sugar etc so did herby chicken with loads of veg, followed by a delicious cheeseboard with berries, was so tasty. So the afternoon consisted on lolling around on her sofas chatting and making plans for our Somerset hols in June.
Not much planned for today other than work, have a good day everyone, take care folks xx0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's very grey and overcast here this morning which matches my mood.
Hubby has left for work and DD's 14 and 13 are getting ready to leave for school. DD16 is staying home today as she is not well.
My friend is coming today to use my kitchen to make cakes. She is high as a kite with her bipolar so goodness knows what they are going to be like. I call her Mrs Cropley (from the vicar of Dibley) when she is in that mindset as she puts anything and everything in her mixtures . Fortunately I don't have to eat them as she is taking them home to freeze for a family occasion coming up.
I had a rubbish night's sleep and can barely keep my eyes open. I won't be able to have a nap though as there are deliveries coming anytime today and my friend didn't specify a time but she is usually fairly early. Ahhh, moan moan moan, sorry everyone, feel free to scroll past to the next post:o.
I will try and get some more knitting done today, I started one baby cardigan three times before I got the pattern right but it's starting to look lovely. Right, I'm off to make myself some breakfast and a coffee. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good morning and happy Monday chums!!
Reading the thread from the weekend, everyone seems to be suffering from the cold, so I hope we're all better today.
It's a lovely but cold day here. Wish I had the time to go a run this morning, I'll make up for that tonight.
Absolutely skint for the next 4 days until payday. Desperately hoping my petrol doesn't run out before then.

Went to mum and dad's for an hour yesterday morning, my brother was there with LM. LM is growing his own potatoes in granny's garden, he showed me his new watering can then taught me how to water the plants, lol. He seemed excited when I told him he could have a couple of my tomato plants for his little veg patch, I'm not sure he knew exactly what I was talking about but he loves tomatoes so he'll be very happy when the plants produce fruitMy mum gave him the biscuit tin so he gave everyone a biscuit – including the dog

The house is looking better, still ploughing through everything though and I think it'll take me all weekI have piles of paper, I'll keep some of it for shredding and will burn the rest. There's some paperwork to do, spreadsheets to update, eggs to box up and clothes to sort.
My feet are very sore and dry, I'm going to shut myself in the bedroom later and give them a bit of pampering.
