Semantics.
I return property that lands in my garden/field like that all the time. In the case of a rubbish sack, I'd treat it like a rubbish sack not a football, but that much ought to be obvious.
One uses the most appropriate method of telling the person they've been clocked doing wrong. That depends very much upon who the person is, and who's doing the telling. I learned that on the Tube the day an American tried to tell a drunken Glaswegian his language was a tad fruity!:rotfl:0
