Checking in Luggage - Tip

It's a good idea to photograph your luggage, so that if it goes missing you can show what it looks like on arrival.

Airlines use a chart with codes...eg a BK22WHX is a Black trolley bag..BK=Black 22=zipped soft upright case W=wheels H=handle. In the even of delayed baggage you would select your case type from pictures that they have
    chart details here - http://www.ihatetaxis.com/advice/lost-luggage-claims/
commonly used across majority (if not all) airlines. Both lost and found bags are entered into the system using the codes

That presumes you can remember. I reported a black case missing once, only to find that when it did turn up it was actually a royal blue one.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I wonder how they code suitcases with pictures on? I used to have cow-print cases, but I'm rather taken by this:

Waiting with a colleague at the baggage belt in India for an hour whilst he waited on his Black Tripp case to come through...whilst he went to make his report I found a Brown Antler case going round the belt with his flight details and surname on it....he swore blind it was not his case ...when forcing him to check inside he was ever more dumbfounded to find his belongings inside...he still insists he had never seen that case before!

    I would guess a MC02WHX...although MC=multicoloured could cover many things :)

Both examples that would have been resolved a lot quicker by following the OP's suggestion :). Just make sure the camera isn't packed in the checked item!
