G24 contractal parking charge notice

Hi, I need some help guys, I have been reading posts from this forum including the Newbies one but I am still confused and about how to get this charge cancelled. I was parked in a customer car park waiting for my brother to get a hair cut at the barbers. The barber shares a customer car park with other retailers like B&M. Today, I get this contractual parking charge notice from G24 for parking 42 minutes saying Term breached: Unauthorised parking at xxxx.

I am sorry to trouble everyone as I have tried to follow the Newbies advice but I am new to this and still confused. I tried my best to read posts but I don't want it getting rejected as I cannot afford to be paying this. I have also read posts saying it doesn't follow popla anymore and the letter template says popla? Sorry but how do I go about this and I am not sure what details to include.

Sorry I am really terrified as it is my first and I cannot afford this I really don't know what to do.
Please see the attached link for the letter

I appreciate any advise or help

You use the template written for IPC members (which G24 are). It's in post #1 of the newbies sticky (NOT the one in blue text).

The only realistic prospect of getting the charge cancelled is by asking whoever contracted with G24 at that site to intervene - probably the landowner or the major retailer on site (ask the retailers there if they know who brought G24 in).

The IAS appeals service offered for IAS members provides very little prospect of success for you - read about your options regarding IAS in the newbies sticky post #3.

But you still don't have to pay this. OK, you'll get harassment via debt collector letters, full of idle threats, but they can't make you pay. The only person who can instruct you to pay is a Judge - no one else!

G24 have never done a court case in their lives, so you're not likely to be their first. And even if you were, there'd be plenty of help for you from the forum.

    Stop being 'terrified'.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

A case was recently dismissed as the PPC was trying to claim a contractual charge for something that was not permitted:

I bet that an appeal to the IAS on the same grounds would still fail....

If the barber "shares a customer car park" and you were waiting for a customer you were an authorised parker, how do the G24 Muppets know who is authorised and who is not?

Your first port of call should be the barber.

A contractual parking charge attracts v.a.t., did they properly account for it?

What did the barber say and do when you and your brothercomplained?

One of the first things in the NEWBIES thread is a alink to 'successful complaints about PPCs' which shows years of successes when complaining to retailers and landowners.

You could also complain to the other retailers where your passenger may or may not have been browsing/shopping that day. go for each Store manager - one of them will probably be happy to cancel it and probably does a few a week.

G24 have cancelled loads of PCNs when told to by the landowners/retailers on site.

G24 do not cancel based on merely an appeal.

G24 do not do court; they are very tame, just letters.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Samantha,

    1. Please start your own thread. This rule is so that individual posters get the right advice and not advice aimed for someone else... i.e. to avoid confusion.

    2. If your username is your real name, you are advised to sign up with a different username that gives no clue as to your identity.

    3. Have a good read of the NEWBIES thread to get an understanding of where you are... but you are at the stage now of ignoring everything except a Court Claim, or a letter before claim. Debt collectors cannot take you to court.
