Cant find key to padlock

Options
Thanks

Situation is side gate on semi detached house is locked inside with a pad lock.

Can't find the key for the pad lock.

From what I can see of it if I can't find the key (only used it 2 days ago) unscrew the complete attachment from the gate, put it in the vice and hacksaw or jigsaw it off. Then replace lock.

I hate when you can't find something.

After you last used the key to open the gate, where did you go? Have you searched clothes / bags etc you had with you on that day?

Indeed, I can't quite remember how long I lost one of our house keys then found it in a pocket of trousers that were in the laundry basket

The keys are behind that block of notepaper on the desk. Well that's where the wife found mine after I'd spent hours looking for them.

My mother would have told you to ask St. Antony to help find them.

Remove lock as you describe and take it to a locksmith to see if they can make you a new key.

It's probably cheaper to replace the padlock or even the whole hasp than getting a key cut.

Can you post a photo of the lock/hasp arrangement?

Surely if you can unscrew it without removing the lock, there's not much point in having a lock.
