HSBC Coin machine: add to balance of HSBC credit card?

Having recently sacrificed my little used HSBC current account for a switching bribe, I still have my HSBC credit card left over.

I am wondering whether I will be able to deposit my loose coins into my local HSBC's coin machine and have the sum added to the balance of my HSBC credit card? Do the machines support this, or do they require you to insert an HSBC current account debit card?

:)

You might need to get your slip and take it to the counter, either way works - pay that naughty CC off! ;)

AFAIK, the HSBC coin deposit machines allow you to credit accounts external to HSBC - the machine prompts for both the account number and sort code.

For anyone that might be interested -

The definitive answer according to two separate HSBC sources is that no, you cannot deposit coins onto an HSBC credit card; you must use an HSBC debit card.
