Hi all,
On the back of a friend'e recommendation we got a quote from a plumber for a new bathroom. Came in at 2950 which seemed ok, Our plans changed and rather than have tiled walls we have opted for wood paneling to be fitted with walls and ceiling painted.
We also asked to for fitting spot lights to be removed from the quote as we'd use the existing fitting.
A revised quote has come back with the cost gone up by 450, to a total of 3400
Given what sounds like more skilled items have been removed from the original (tiling / electricals) to be replaced with painting and paneling, it seems a big jump.Both quote below.
What do people think? Based in South Manchester. It's an old house, wonky walls etc if that makes any difference.

To take down all wall tiles and floor tiles and replaster all walls. put in new shower,toilet,sink,and bath with heated towel rad. also put new ceiling in and spot lights fitted by a qualified elecrician. then tile all walls half height and full height over the shower/bath plus board and tile floor. and provide 1 skip

To remove old bathroom suite and take down all wall tiles and floor tiles. then replaster all walls and fit a new ceiling but keep existing lights. then fit wood panneling half way round the room and paint all walls and ceiling. put in new shower,toilet,sink,and bath with heated towel rad. and new flooring. and provide 1 skip.
