onlinepoundstore.co.uk

This may be slightly premature so I won't make any accusations, just the sequence of events that lead me to suspect I won't be getting my parcel.
  1. Ordered goods from onlinepoundstore.co.uk on 9 April. Paid through Paypal. No acknowledgement of the order.
  2. Checked website, no sign of order and important parts of the website, e.g FAQs and About Us, are blank or full of nonsense text.
  3. Emailed company, got standard reply explaining normal processing times but due to staff shortages it will be 10 working days in total.
  4. 10 working days pass delivery-free.
Has anyone used this site and got what they paid for?

Thanks for the link. I don't know whether it is encouraging that they've been going for over two years, or off-putting that they still haven't finished their website!

What if I want to return an item or items?

If it is a faulty item it will need to be in original packaging unopened in order to be returned. Postage will be paid for if it is the fault of the Online Pound Store, at a maximum cost of £2.80 second class standard. If you want to have the order tracked this will be at your own expense.

How do you know if it is faulty if you haven't opened it?

Hello. I have ordered off them 3 times. My 1st order showed as dispatched and tracking said it was with Yodel in Bamber Bridge, Preston. It just stuck like that. I don't live in Preston, I live in Glasgow. Also the onlinepound are in Manchester.

Eventually (3 weeks later) onlinepound email saying they could not replace the parcel and just refunded my PayPal account.

Months later, I placed another order and it came fine. As did my 3rd one.

I quite like them but my 1st order paid with PayPal seems very similar to what you are describing.
  • Did you eventually receive your order ? or did you get a refund ? I have placed an order and nothing arrived chased up eventually admitted forgot to send have asked for details when sending no reply yet.

I'd cancel the order and go to a proper pound shop if I were you.

Online Pound Store's T&C don't inspire much confidence:
Some products may be past their use by date and some products may say not for resale/sample.

On rare occasions you may purchase a product which cannot be fulfilled immediately. You will then be provided with a coupon, equal to the amount of the product, which can be used on the onlinepoundstore.co.uk website.

We do not give compensation for any failures of the courier as this is out of our direct control.

    [...]

We do not accept claims relating to any product after 28 days, manufacturing faults after this period can be taken up with the manufacturer direct.
