Try Hob Brite (I think that's what it's called). Most supermarkets will sell something similar for glass/ceramic.

Another thumbs up for Hob Brite

We always use hot soapy water, followed by a polish with a micro fibre cloth - works fine.

I have it happen when boiling Spuds, the salt and the sugars out of the Potatoes, seems to turn into a caramel type liquid, which can then burn on the hob.

I dont use anything else than some normal spray glass cleaner, leave it on a few minutes and then a microfibre cloth gets it off.

In fact, my Induction hob suggests W5 glass cleaner from Lidl, the cheapest you can get.
