Received incorrect P45 from JCP after starting work

Hi,
I'd just like to check something to make sure I'm correct in my assumptions before trying to contact someone at DWP.
- I was made redundant in October 2015.
- I successfully applied for JSA at the start of January 2016.
- I found a job, starting on 18th April (this last Monday), so on 13th April when I signed on, I filled out the form with my Job Coach for me to Sign Off on 17th April.
I received in the post today (22nd April - nice and quick!):
- P60 stating I had received £877.21 in taxable benefits, with £0 deducted. It says "Year to 5 April 2106".
- P45 stating Leaving Date of 17/04/2016 (correct), and "Total taxable benefit in this period" of £877.21.
I was expecting that:
- The P60 would show my earnings up until 5th April (The £877 is correct from my calcs)
- The P45 would show my earnings between 6th & 18th April (12 days so £125 by my calcs)
Are my above expectations correct? If so, how can they have got it wrong! Is it just that their system can't cope with someone Signing Off (and hence produce a P45) so close to the start of the tax year?
My understanding is that if I don't get this corrected, the Tax Man will believe I've been paid £752 (£877-£125) more than I actually have in this tax year before starting my new job. End result is that I'll end up paying £151 tax (20% of £751) due to receiving just £125 of JSA this tax year!
I presume my options are to either call in on my JCP that I used to go to for Signing On, or ring the Benefit Office that has been sending the paperwork.
The reason for posting is to see if someonet can confirm that my assumptions are correct and that my P45 is wrong!
Many thanks!

Seems odd, I have to say from experience that the JC+ are well known for getting p45s and P 60s badly wrong.
If you did overpay tax in 2016/17 because of this you could claim a refund in April 20170 -
The other year ,I got two p60s from jobcentre ,one I used for tax credits ,a month later I got another one and different figure
Did u earn more than £10,600 in the year ,I wouldn't worry about this, if its the case
Just seen again ,u should get separate p45 for 6th to 18th0
