Cheap way to learn how to drive?

Learning how to drive appears to be very expensive. If you don't have a friend or family member that can help you learn, is there any other cheap way to learn how to drive?

Not really, you need to be taught by professionals if you want to pass your driving test these days if you dont have any friends or family that will teach you the basics.

    Get professional lessons.

Asking friends and relatives to add you to their insurance and then let you start learning on their car is not a good idea. They will be nervous. They will lose their temper with you. You will be mortified every time you crunch their gears or burn their clutch or narrowly avoid a crash etc etc. And you will learn bad habits and they will not know the latest methods or the test routes.

Once you have developed a reasonable level of competence learning with an instructor then you might consider buying your own car and letting a friend sit with you to get practice at 'just driving'.
You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.

Get a decent instructor and LISTEN!!! to what they tell you.

And after the lesson ends, dont stop there. The highway code and theory test and hazard perception should be regular homework.
