Check your BT bill carefully this month

Check your bBT bill very carefully this month if you get free BT Sport (or even if you pay for it as that could be wrong as well)!
This month my BT bill contains a note to say “We've simplified the BT Sport section of your bill, to make it easier to see what you're paying. The actual price for BT Sport hasn't changed”
Oh yes they have changed the bill alright. It says £5 for BT Sport then it says £5 discount (as we get it free). But instead of zero I have been charged £10. Adding the discount to the bill instead of taking it off.
It has taken too phone calls to get a refund. I asked that the direct debit be stopped until it was corrected but they didn’t do anything following that phone call so they have taken the full amount today. I rang again today and have been told they will refund the £10 in 3 to 5 working days. I don’t see why I should be bolstering up BT’s cash flow.
I would be interested to know if it is just my bill that is wrong or whether this is a more general problem.

Yes - after reading this thread I rechecked my bill.
I was also incorrectly charged £7.74.
Spoke to BT and they very readily agreed to refund it. It seemed like they knew about the problem.
(Having had previous problems with refunds from them - I asked them to send me an SMS confirming the refund, whilst I was still on the phone to them. They did this.)0
