Jet2 cancelled Flights and Refunds. Grrrrr

Long story short, Jet 2 cancelled our Berlin flights from Manchester next Jan for dh's 40th birthday celebrations. I have already booked and paid for hotels and transfer flights from Berlin to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam back to Manchester where our car will be. Now I cant find equivelent flights (times, direct and prices) from manchester to Berlin so thought I would ring Jet2 and ask to cancel my Amsterdam to Manchester flights back then try and rebook the lot with easyjet from Liverpool.Their response? WE ARE NOT A CANCELLATION AIRLINE! Well you blooming cancelled mine, didnt you?So what can I do, call centre woman kept on repeating not a cancellation airline, no response from number on saynoto0870.What can I do? Is it worth persuing or is that the chance you take when you book budget?

To be honest their responsibility is just to take you from Manchester to Berlin.
They cannot be held responsible for any foward planning and flights by you.(even if you have booked further flights with the same company!)
They have given you ample opportunity to get another flight to Berlin - their liability stops there (once you have had your refund!).
I know its tough - but one of the prices we have to pay for budget prices.0 -
Sadly, I think you are stuffed.
If you had booked a simple Manchester - Berlin return that would be one booking and when they cancelled the outbound flight they would have offered you the chance to cancel the return part.
As you have booked Manchester - Berlin and Amsterdam - Manchester that (in their eyes at least) is 2 bookings and anything that affects one of them does not impact on the other.
Have they cancelled all Berlin flights from Manchester or just the one you were on? In that case could you possibly reschedule your trip?0 -
Yeah I think so too. Sadly the cheapest way is just to forget about Jet 2 and book the whole lot again thru easyjet!I will try and ask them to swap the flight to a dublin one, then they keep the dosh and I can claim it back from work. That might be a goer! !!!!!!! budget airlines
