Car Windscreen Smashed - School or parent responsible - Advice please

Hi all,
A quick update: I spoke with the police, the CAB and a free law team (who the CAB referred me to) and have been told that the school is responsible as 1) they were on notice of the issue and did not take appropriate steps to prevent the incident, 2) there was no supervision of the pupils as no member of staff was in the playground at the time of the incident, 3) there is a football pitch on the other side of the school which the pupils can use and 4) they have insurance for these situations.
Strangely enough just as I left the offices with this news I received an email (which was much more humble than previously) from the school representative telling me that the incident was reported to their legal/insurance department who are going to reimburse me the out of pocket expenses. I have forwarded on the invoice/receipt and told them that I am not willing to use my insurance as I will be penalised (especially as it's my first year )and expect the full amount to be paid.
Fingers crossed they will resolve this matter swiftly and most importantly fairly.Nanny Ogg looked under her bed in case there was a man there. Well, you never knew your luck.

Depending on the age or value of the car and how concerned you are about it you could also claim for the paintwork damage and cleaning the inside of the car. Were there any financial costs involved in cancelling your holiday?.0

To be honest the scratches buffed out and I used tinted wax to cover and you cannot really see them. A friend was able to pop out the dent which surprised me but I'm pretty happy with the result. I didn't really think it would be reasonable to ask for paintwork repairs on a older car as it does already have wear and tear marks on it already from the previous owner. I am just so relieved that the cost of the windscreen is being reimbursed and we can re-arrange our holiday once I receive the money as it this typically occurred the week before payday.
Thanks to all for their helpful advice and commentsNanny Ogg looked under her bed in case there was a man there. Well, you never knew your luck.
