Tax credits.

Hi Please Help If You Can ?
Last tax year 2015-16 we estimated a income of 26000, but we've just got my partners March payslip and it says the gross total for that year was 35000, 🙈 And the only reason for that was overtime, but now there is no more overtime so this tax year the earnings will be less. Because of this massive difference between estimate & actual will this mean we will have to pay it all back? We only get child tax credit anyway ( no WTC). Another worrying thing is on top of that 35000, I need to add carers allowance , so the amount to give tax credits will be over 36000, when estimate was only 26000 🙈🙈 I'm so worried as to what will happen? Will we have to go a whole year without any child tax credit because of the overpayment which they will take back? I'm sorry if this makes no sense, but tax credits has always confused me. Xxxx
