I have needed to replace my worn out cake tins for ages but I still haven't bought any as I have entered quite a few baking related comps recently as wells as ones for vouchers for shops that sell cake tins.

I want to get my partner a new ipod for his Birthday next month but I keep putting off buying it in case I win John Lewis or Amazon vouchers - I know the chances are slim but it would save me money even if it was only £25 worth.

A couple of years ago I bought theatre tickets for my Birthday and a month after I had seen it I won some for the same show!

So do you all just buy things you need when you need them or keep putting it off just in case you're lucky?!

Only really things I want and cant condone buying such luxuries because-I don't need them, want is a another matter.

Top of the list is a kindle and a fitbit. Saying that I have just ordered a new pair of trainers with a voucher I won, so the money I was going to spend on a new pair can be saved for something I want.

All the time - even tho' I don't enter nearly as many comps as I used to!
I got into comping big-time as we fancied a new TV but couldn't justify buying one while our bulky thing still worked. (The colour was a bit strange in one spot as our then-toddler grand-daughter decided to use the magnetic fish tank cleaner on it!) Back then hubby fancied an ipod and told him to hold off buying -I won him the Touch when it was new out.
I've managed to win a couple of things that family / friends were after too, but that was when wins were a bit more frequent!
Try as I might I couldn't win RWC2015 tickets and so many others tried for me too, but in the end I forked out- had a brilliant time!

  • Sometime if it's not an essential I've waited to win boots and trainers and finally won the item or a voucher I could use.
    Shhhhhhh...
  • I do but then I never win them! So I then have to buy them! I tried for ages to win a xbox 360 ended up buying one then winning one a couple of months later. Ended up giving it to a neighbour for her grandsons xmas present. Really want a kitchen aid - no way I could afford one..... spent 4/5 years trying to win one lol
  • Yes, all the time! If I want something but don't need it I try to win it! I really want a few things but can't justify the cost of them so will just keep entering competitions to win them! Would be nice if I did but wont be the end of the world if I don't!

Yes I do. Things I would like but not necessarily need, top of my list is a coffee machine. I have been close to buy one many times but I just keep telling myself I will win one soon. A bigger telly and a ktchen machine are quite high on my list too.

I do too. I've really wanted a DAB radio for about a year now but I don't need one because my other radio still works so I see it as an unecessary expense. I'm holding out in the hope that i'll either win one or win enough vouchers that I can buy one from somewhere like John Lewis!

Yes I do - I have a wish list of things I would love to win but not buy. I have crossed a fair few items off my list over the years of comping :)
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

YES! Although it often doesn't work.. I usually end up having to go and buy it. Such as the new TV a few months ago!

But my Laptop has been broken for years. Last year it had a small electric fire of some kind at the webcam and it had all melted into the case and did not smell to nice! I carried on using it once my partner had taken out the melted bit. It ran very slow and was awful but I refused to buy a new one!...Then a couple of months ago I won a new laptop so on that occasion it was well worth me waiting! (although it probably should of been replaced alot soon)

Certain event tickets though it really is a case of it we don't win them we are not going!
