Butlins Skegness - any advice?

Hi All,

Booked a weekend for two adults at butlins in Skeggy!

Has anyone got any good ideas of things to do in the area? Also what is the food like there, we are wondering if it is possible to pay extra for the "gold" food and if it is worth it?! We are going to take our own alcohol as people said its expensive for us money savers!

If anyone is interested it was only £111 for 2 of us for 3 weekend nights, dinner, bed and breakfast in a silver room - Bargain to me!:j

Don't bother paying any extra for *Gold* food......

It's exactly the same as silver/standard. The only thing that differs are the surroundings you eat it in. :)

    That is a bargain ...

When I worked there I used to get my parents one of the Royal Arthur Court bungalows (the old 'Deluxe', but only released for 'VIPs') for £15 a night half board. I don't think they are nearly that generous nowadays!

You can pay to eat in the Gold restaurant (it's very nice!), but I'm not sure if you can do it as an upgrade as such, or whether you just have to pay again.

If you fancied eating outside of Butlins one night, there is a lovely chinese, and an indian, on the road into Skeg. Can't remember the names, but they are both near the library.

Before now I would have recommended a night out at Fats on the seafront, but it burnt down last month ... :o

    Have a great time! x
    Gone ... or have I?
