The appeal letter was sent about a month ago, no reply, not even a rejection. However, today I received the letter from Vanquish telling me the debt had been sold to them.

Normally I'd worry about this, but thanks to the thread I'm ready to just ride it out and see what happens :)

    Too right.

Vanquish have not properly 'purchased/assigned' the 'debt'. It's all smoke & mirrors. Keep ALL letters though for six years just in case they break the habit of a lifetime and try a claim, you'd need the letters (and a picture of the unreadable signs would be useful now, for your collection, if you can get some) to mount a defence.

You are highly unlikely to need it - with this bunch you'd be the first to get to small claims court:

    PARKING AWARENESS SERVICES LTD
Run and owned by Matthew Wild. Has earlier links to Vanquish Debt Recovery.

This is one of those £1 deals passed from one desk to another.
Did Parking Awareness ever advise you that they were assigning this to Vanquish ?

You should request from Vanquish, a copy of the assignment as Vanquish is unknown to you and there are no monies owed

Apologies for setting up a new account to continue this thread, but couldn't log in under my old username.

After a couple of years of letting this pass me by, I have recently received a letter from BWlegal. The mail contained two letters, one telling me that my account has been passed to the the legal team at BW legal, and the other instructing me to pay before Court Proceedings are considered.

I see that since I was last here there are a number of threads mentioning this company, can anyone point me towards the relevant one to respond to this outfit.

    Much appreciated

This is not the first time I have heard of Matthew not sending the first notice, ask the DVLA it is free when he applied for details.

Why not search the forum for BW Legal LBC and also read the NEWBIES thread post #2 about how to respond to a LBC.

ok guys, i've seriously screwed this up and I prepared for the abuse that I deserve. I've had a lot going on in my life this year and this whole issue has been neglected and I fear it's too late to do anything about it.

I received a court claim form on the 27th September and acknowledged it on the 29th, if this gives me 28 days to respond, that makes the deadline in the next couple of days.

I lost my MCOL number and have just sent them an email to transfer the case over to my new account.

Is it worth trying to get mt defence together today and then email it across to be attached to the case, or is it a lost cause at this stage.

After looking into this further, it seems that there is a 5 day period on top of the 28 days to submit a defence which might just buy me enough time.

I have found a defence on the forum which seems to fit with my case, I have altered the top paragraph to include the particulars of my case, as it seems quite unique to others. My car broke down and couldn't be removed as the car park exits directly into a busy main road which would have been dangerous to do.

I'll add the defence into the next reply and would appreciate any feedback

With a Claim Issue Date of 27th September, and having done the Acknowledgement of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 30th October 2018 to file your Defence.

Still a few days to go, but don't leave it to the very last minute.

When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as described here:

    1) Print your Defence.
    2) Sign it and date it.
    3) Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
    4) Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
    5) Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
    6) Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
    7) Wait for your Directions Questionnaire and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES thread to find out exactly what to do with it.
