Landlord asking if i received my section 21

Options
I posted a few weeks back. Agency posted me a letter asking me to vacate the property Long term tenant no reason given. Date in June given.

Ive since been searching for my original tenancy agreement from 96 under your advice but cant find it at the moment still looking. Cant find anything on deposit either although I have a feeling it is protected. LL was crap at repairs but quite good on the legal stuff.

Anyway I get an email today from agency saying did I receive my notice. They are obviously starting to wonder what I'm going to do so far ive kept quiet.

I presume I shouldn't answer this. If I cant find my original tenancy agreement and proof deposit was protected do I have to contact them to ask for it again? I guess even if I do I don't have to tell them what I am doing regarding the tenancy?

If you are going to be moving out sometime soon, I suggest (if you aren't already doing it) starting to pack up and hoping the TA turns up as you go through things. You could ask the LA for a copy.

If the LA/LL goes forward and places a possession claim with the courts, they will have to include a copy of the last tenancy agreement with the paperwork. But you will also receive an order to pay £280 court costs once the possession claim is granted.
