CURRENT ACCOUNT ACCEPTED?????
So, after applying on line for a current account with First Direct, I was pleased to receive their terms and conditions along with the application form to sign and return. Then noticed on the form that the application was subject to final checks.
In the past when I've received terms and conditions and forms to sign for credit cards etc, my application has been accepted
So, does this mean that First Direct haven't done the relevant checks such as credit searches?

Do they ask you to send some proofs of ID and address (bank statement, bill)? If yes, this is what they call final checks, I think.0

This is the weird thing, FD haven't mentioned anything about ID as yet where as normally you would be asked to send in documents or go into a branch, and nothing has been mentioned about setting up existing direct debits/ standing orders so I don't know if I am still to receive that relevant paperwork.0

I should imagine they have already done all the credit checks etc.
If you apply online they often don't need you to send any ID etc. This is because they get the two bits of ID required from:
1. They check your name & address on the electoral roll (through the credit reference agency).
2. They send the application form to your home address which you must sign and return - the fact that it got to your home address and you returned it proves that the address is correct.student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0
